Jackie Thomason

Jackie Dale Thomason, 87, of Paragould, passed from this life on Friday, June 3, 2022. He was born on February 9, 1935, to the late Jack and Vestal Thomason. Jackie graduated high school and married Alline Mears on July 18, 1953. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 32 years, spending seventeen of those years as Postmaster. In his spare time, he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and camping. Jackie loved to read. He loved reading his Bible, and his favorite author was John Grisham. He was a member of West View Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Jackie was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Hugh Allen, Herbert, and Ray Thomason; sister, Margie Randles; and infant twin brothers, Bobby and Billy.

Jackie is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alline Thomason; son, Melvin (Susan) Thomason of Finch; daughter, Patricia (Gary) Hampton of Salem, Illinois; grandchildren, Bryan Hampton of Salem, Illinois, Paul Hampton of Grand Junction, Colorado, Cory Thomason of Finch, Warren (Michelle) Osborne of Middletown, Connecticut, and Darrel (Nellie) Osborne of Virginia Beach, Virginia; great grandchildren, Liam, Xenia, Xaiden, Rosalind, and Katerina; and sisters, Ann Nicosia of Louisiana and Bonnie Scott of Paragould.

The family will receive friends Monday from 11:30-1 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 1pm with Dr. Marc Reeves and Rev. Ardell Polk officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bryan and Paul Hampton, Cory and Chris Thomason, Darrel Osborne, and Robert Mears. Honorary pallbearer is Warren Osborne.
