Jack D. McKelvey, 58, Paragould, died Monday, April 11, 2011, in Corning. He was born April 25, 1952 in Greene County the son of Barbara Jean Smith McKelvey and the late Earl McKelvey. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Aaron Barnhardt. Jack loved drag racing and has many friends throughout the racing community. He also played semi-pro baseball, worked at Emerson Electric and Battery Parts Warehouse and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother: Barbara McKelvey of the home; sister: Cindy Barnhardt of Alma; brothers: Tim McKelvey of Paragould, David McKelvey of Farmington, MO; nieces and nephews: Joshua Barnhardt, Jordan Barnhardt, Shannon McKelvey Ellington, Nathan McKelvey, Miranda McKelvey, Ryan Tyler McKelvey. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday at Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverends Kim Bridges and Tommy Timms officiating with burial following at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Joshua and Jordan Barnhardt, Nathan McKelvey, Jamie Phillips, Timmy Wineland and Fred Shannon. Honorary pallbearers are Alan Vangilder, Steve Conner, John Porter, Tommy Newberry and Dwight Reed. Memorials may be made to First Freewill Baptist Church.
