Harold "Sonny" Otho Hampton

Harold Otho Sonny Hampton, 75, of Paragould, passed away Friday at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was a truck driver for over 50 years. Sonny enjoyed watching Razorback and Greene County Tech basketball and football. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Sonny was the son of the late Samuel and Leona Crow Hampton. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Preston and Alfred Hampton; sister, Alma Hampton; and nephew, Ray Hampton.

Survivors included his wife of 50 years, Wanda Sharpe Hampton; son, Dennis Hampton of Paragould; granddaughters, Sonni Amber (Russell) Standefer of San Marcos, Texas and Samantha (Jorge) Jaramillo of Paragould; great granddaughter, Khloe Jaramillo; great grandson on the way, Jackson Ray Jaramillo; sisters, Merlene Adams and Ruth Ann Hampton, both of Paragould; and several nieces and nephews. Sonny will be greatly missed by his family and his many, many friends.

Visitation is Monday evening from 6-8 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Tuesday at 10 AM at Heath Colonial Chapel with Tim Wooldridge and Dennis Hampton officiating. Burial is in Finch Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chris, Mike, Keith, and Kent Hampton, and Phil and Steve Adams. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Drope, Craig Boozer, Ben Wooldridge, and Lester Forbes.
