Gerald "Jerry" Henry Rickey, 80, of Paragould, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Jerry was born and raised in O'Kean and attended school at Delaplaine. He spent most of his time outdoors, and he could often be found working on the family farm, hunting, or working with his animals, especially his fame chickens and foxhounds. He was especially proud of his foxhounds, for which he received national recognition. He enjoyed competing in field trials and sitting around the bonfire telling stories while listening to the dogs running. Jerry loved being around people, and he always had a quick smile and a story for anyone who would listen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Idelle Rickey; sister, Linda Manderson, of Pennsylvania; and great grandson, Kamden McDaniel.
Survivors include daughters, Angela Rickey and Tiffany Felty, both of Paragould; sons, Anthony Rickey and Jeromy Rickey (Jamie), both of Paragould; grandchildren, Lindsay Smith, Mikayla White, Briana Rickey, AJ Rickey, Mead Rickey, Dalton Payne, and Marley Stewart; great grandchildren Christian Moore, Mason Roach, Elanor Cox, Bradleigh Payne, Hunter Norman, Austin Higgins, Greenlee Higgins, Drake Higgins, and Chasyn McDaniel; and close friends, Debbie Brown and Chuck and Vicky Winn.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Greene County Memorial Gardens with Bro. M.W. Ray of Trinity Full Gospel Church officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Silkwood, Chuck Winn, Aaron Britt, Billy Rylant, Leroy Condray, and Bill James.
