Gerald Carlton Freligh

Gerald Carlton Freligh, Sr. 86, of Paragould, died Monday, February 9, 2009, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. He was born the son of the late Albert Leon and Dorothy Irene Kilburn Freligh on March 28, 1922 in Harbor Creek, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his two brothers. Gerald retired from the United States Air Force after 33 years of service and three wars, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He is one of 7000 soldiers to serve in three wars and received 59 awards. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church. He was the treasurer for the Greene County Baptist Association for 13 years. He is survived by his wife: Pat Freligh, of the home; sons: Gerald Carlton Freligh, Jr., of Houston, TX, David Lee Freligh, Forrest City; brother: Howard Freligh, Ripley, NY; four grandchildren: Daniel, Justin, Crystal, Ian, and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday. His life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel at 2:00 PM, Thursday, with Reverend Jim Fowler officiating. He will be buried Friday at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemeter
