Gerald Edward Ball, 84, of Lafe, passed from this life on Saturday June 25, 2022. He was born in Black Oak, Arkansas, on March 27, 1938, to the late Coy and Gladys Ball. Gerald was disabled, but he liked being a farmer, cattle rancher, and horse trainer. He was a natural in the saddle, and Gerald could train any horse. He gave many riding lessons and is known for his ability with horses. He could make anything a hobby and enjoyed almost everything. He became a dog trainer, and he trained beagles to be outstanding hunting dogs. Gerald married his wife, Carolyn, on August 15, 1991. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Together, they had six children, twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. While Gerald had a passion for farming, cattle ranching, and beagles, his greatest love was being Pappy and Papaw. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jay Coy Ball, Jr.; and great grandchild, Winley Stewart.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Carolyn Ball of Lafe; children, Bobby (Rita) Ball of Walcott, Debbie (Tim) Voth of Delaware, Arkansas, Tracie Ball (Ray Moore) of New Jersey, David (Natosha) Stewart of Marmaduke, Michelle Hawkins of Brookland, and Brandon (Heidi) Ball of Marmaduke; grandchildren, Craig, Kelly, Clinton, Lauren, Erica, Tré, Deosha, Dacey, Adalyn, Wesley, Kambria, and Norah; seven great grandchildren, Alex, Natalie, Blake, Charlee, Maddox, Kaylie, and Keyston; and great-great grandchild, Randall, Jr. "RJ".
The family will meet at New Liberty Cemetery for a graveside funeral on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 10am. Honorary pallbearers are Sam King, Charlie Barnhill, Clarence Murray, Ken Box, Brian Chandler, and Brittany Reeves.
