Genevive "Janet" Clements, beloved homemaker and devoted Pastor's wife in the Southern Baptist church, was called to her eternal rest on May 12, 2024, at the age of 86 in her hometown of Paragould, Arkansas. She was a cherished member of her community, known for her kindness and warmth that made her easy to love by all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Janet touched the lives of many as she opened her home to countless children, babysitting them and nurturing them as if they were her own. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family as she cared for animals and always had a green thumb when it came to tending her garden with her husband, Dub.
Janet found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from traveling with her family to watching Hallmark movies with her dear friend Glenda. In her leisure, she relished traveling with family and going on multi-state shopping trips with her sister Clara- sometimes going through as many as three states in one trip.
She was preceded in death by her parents James "Jim" and Goldie Garner, her beloved husband of 68 years Rev. H.W. "Dub" Clements, and her daughters Karen Barrow and Kathy Vowell- all of Paragould.
Janet's legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family, including her sisters Clara Cone and Estel Spain, sons-in-law Dennis Vowell and Ronnie Barrow, her 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and countless extended family and friends who were as close as family to her.
A celebration of Janet's life will take place with a Visitation at Heath Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 15, at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Thursday morning, May 16, at 9:30 am, followed by a burial at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Dennis Vowell will be presiding, with Dr. Denny Vowell delivering the eulogy.
Pallbearers are Robert Clark, Jay Clark, Skyler Brown, Theo Vowell, Zeke Southard, and Trey Clayton.
Janet Clements will forever be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
