Geneva Roberta Wood

Geneva Roberta Wood, 91, of Paragould, AR departed this life to be with the Lord on April 28, 2009. Born Aug. 15, 1917, at Lafe, Arkansas she was the daughter of the late Robert E. Lee and Effie Lee (Potts) White. Mrs. Wood was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church. She lived her life in loving service to her God, her family and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years Ralph Carlyle Wood; seven brothers: Leland, Charles O., Alvin, Lloyd, Alfred, Elbridge and Eltee White; four sisters: Arlie Cooper, Lora Wright, Edna Cooper, and Leona Vangilder. Survivors include a son and his wife, Dallas and Sandy Wood of Paragould; two daughters and their husbands, Clarice and Winfred Cox of Russellville, AR and Carolyn and Kenneth Pugh of Paragould; eight grandchildren: Kevin and Paula Pugh, Danonne and Lou Citro, Melanie and Phillip Barry, Kerry and Shirley Pugh, Ralph and Laura Wood, Kenny and Diane Pugh, Kristie Pugh, Tisha and Kyle Smith; two step-grandchildren, Sara Phillips and Donnie Barnes; nineteen great-grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren; two special sisters-in-law, Winnie and Audie Lee White. She is also survived by fifty special nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday at Providence Baptist Church, Lafe, AR. The service will be conducted by Bro. Eddie Gene Wright and Bro. Gary Morris. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Heath Funeral Home. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Lou Citro, Kyle Smith, Shane Carter, Ky, Kale and Ethan Pugh. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.
