Gayla Renay Weatherford, 60, of Paragould, passed away Monday at Greene Acres Nursing Home. She was born in Paragould and was formerly employed by Emerson Electric. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she was the pianist for over 40 years. Gayla was an avid St Louis Cardinal fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play sports. Gayla was the daughter of the late Glen and Lizzie "Liz" White Howard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Weatherford, and her sister, Rita Stanfill.
Survivors include her sons, Jason (Carla) Weatherford and Corey Weatherford of Paragould; daughter, Jessica (Clinton) Jackson of Jonesboro; five granddaughters, Carlee Weatherford, Addison Jackson, Kinlee Weatherford, Lila Jackson, Camryn Weatherford ; grandson, Cooper Weatherford and Creedon Weatherford; mother-in-law, Margaret King of Jonesboro; sister-in-law, Kathy Chesser of Jonesboro; brother-in-law Winford Stanfill of Paragould.
Visitation will be Friday from 9 - 10 AM. Funeral service will begin at 10 in the chapel of Heath Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Strope officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Don Sanders, Matt McGowan, Andrew Gander, Jim Howard, Ron Pickney, Butch Daniels, Benny Lueker and Randy Wallace.
Memorials are asked to consider LeBonheur Children's Hospital.
