Floyd Edward Spence, 86, of Memphis, TN, formerly of Greene County, died Monday, at his home. Floyd was a member of Open Door Bible Church and served his country in the Army-Air Corps during World War II. He was born January 3, 1923 the son of the late David and Amy Brummett Spence. He is survived by his wife: Mary Spence, of the home; sons: George Spence (Linda) of Scottsville, Kentucky, Larry Spence; step son: Freddie Griffin (Faye) all of Memphis; grandson: James Edward Spence (Stephanie) of Scottsville, Kentucky; granddaughters: Mary Elizabeth Spence of Jonesboro, Amy Spence of West Plains, Missouri; step grandson: Phillip Griffin (Melanie); step granddaughter: Mary Talley (Tim) all of Memphis and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time at 11:00 AM Thursday at Heath Colonial Chapel. Reverend Gary Starbucks will be officiating. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
