Florence May Reed

February 14, 1955 — January 14, 2025

Florence Charlene May Reed, affectionately known as "Cracker" for her vibrant and firecracker personality, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, just one month shy of her 70th birthday. Born on February 14, 1955, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Cracker brought warmth and joy to everyone around her, embodying a spirit that was as vibrant and enduring as the love she shared with her family and friends.

Cracker loved to engage in spirited games of cards, board games, and bingo, where her competitive spirit shone through. A fan of whack-a-mole, she enjoyed the thrill of the game just as much as the laughter it brought to those around her.

Her passion for music was evident, as she could recite every word to the old country songs she cherished, filling her home with melodies that painted memories. A devoted baseball fan, she particularly adored the St. Louis Cardinals, finding beauty and inspiration in the elegant flight of her favorite bird, the cardinal.

As a God-fearing woman, Florence embraced her faith with grace and strength. Now, she is finally home in Heaven, where her radiant spirit will continue to shine.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Esbert Reed and Larah Linda (Bowman) Reed, and brothers, Pete Gilbert and J.P. Reed.

She is survived by her son, Charles Henry May; her sisters, Linda Reed and Dorothy Reed; her half-sister, Rosemarie Elliot; half-brother, Fred Stuart, Jr. II; her loving niece, Karen Grim; and her cherished granddaughter, Graci Grim. Each family member holds dear their own unique memories of her warm smile, hearty laughter, and nurturing spirit, which will forever echo in their hearts.

With fond memories and hearts full of love, we say goodbye to Florence Charlene May Reed, better known as Cracker, as she leaves behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
