Eva Meacham Wright was born October 27, 1925 in Monette, Arkansas to James Thomas Meacham and Ethel Winifred (Hamilton) Meacham. She was one of nine children. Eva passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Craighead Nursing Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 93.
She married Samuel John Wright, November 27, 1943. She was certified to teach during WWII then graduated from Arkansas State College (Jonesboro) in 1963. She taught First Grade for most of her thirty years until she retired. She was a Sunday School teacher and pianist for many years at Silverdale Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Kelly Wright (Jo Ann); a daughter, Linda Crossno (Jerry); grandchildren: Staci Brown (Michael), Jonathan Wright (Missi), Shellei Rowe (Shad), Whitney Nelson (Charles), Marnee Sapp, and Brandon Crossno, 11 great grandchildren: Stanna & Emilee Brown, Tyler Wright, Allison & Olivia Rowe, Sydney, Cade & Neely Nelson, Logan, Jacob & Zander Sapp, and 2 great-great grandchildren: Cash & Teagan Wright; one brother, Lloyd Meacham (Marlene), and Eva's twin sister, Alice Bagby; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Sam, in 2010; her oldest son, Stanley Wright in 1991; 3 brothers: James, Cyril and J.T. Meacham; 3 sisters: Elizabeth Fox, Regenia New and Amelda Parker.
Visitation will be Friday from 2:30 - 3:00 PM. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM at Heath Funeral Home Chapel with Kelly Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens, Paragould. Pallbearers will be Cade Nelson, Brandon Crossno, Michael Brown, Logan Sapp, Shad Rowe, and Charles Nelson.
