Ethel Laverne Greathouse, 89, of Paragould, left this world on Monday, August 2, 2021 in her home in the presence of her loving family. She was born on July 10, 1932 in Arbyrd, Missouri to the late Clyde and Opal Skelton. Laverne worked at Emerson Electric and in environmental services at AMMC. She is preceded in death by her son, James Mitchell Rushing; great-grandson, Kurt Christopher Allen Duke; and brother Glen Ray Skelton.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Glen Greathouse of the home; daughters, Dollie Nell Rushing Hafer, and Tina Marie Greathouse Jackson (David Jackson); son, Chris Greathouse (Tammy Greathouse); grandchildren, James Hafer (Ashley Hafer), Matthew Hafer (Vanessa Hafer), Stacy Carson, Sarah Ashley, Tabitha McDonald (Mark McDonald), Danielle Jackson, Dakota Dixon (Jackson Boise), Cheyenne Greathouse, Savannah Greathouse, and Garrett Greathouse; great-grandchildren, Daniel Duke, Brianna Jackson, Kileigh White, Eli Duke, Ellie Duke, Akious Shearer, Dylan Hafer, Justin Jackson, Devon McDonald, Taylor White, Katlyn Carson, Tristan Duke, Talyn Hafer, Ethan Hafer, Zoe Menderhall, Caden Jackson, Allison Mendenhall, Landon Jackson, Abigail Hafer, Austin McDonald, and Jude Hafer; and great-great grandchildren, Kason Williams, Hadley Duke, Blakely Williams, Liam White, Wyatt Duke, River Jackson, and soon to be Fletcher Williams.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday night from 6 - 8 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home. The service will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday in the Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Jamey Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens. James Hafer, Matthew Hafer, Billy White, Gary Williams, Justin Jackson, and Grant Pitcher will serve as pallbearers.
