Erin Mckenzie Dowdy

Erin McKenzie Dowdy, age 21, passed away Sunday October 4, 2015. Erin was born March 3, 1994 to David and Cindy Dowdy in Jonesboro, AR at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center. Erin graduated Paragould High School in 2012. She participated in extracurricular activities like swim team, soccer, and choir. Erin was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Paragould. She was active in the church's youth group; going on mission trips, fundraisers, being a role model to the younger youth group members. Erin was a bright, beautiful, smart, funny, outgoing girl who loved to laugh and make others smile. Erin married Edmond Quinton Hurst of Cookeville, TN in March of 2013. She attended Genesis School of Cosmetology in Cookeville and also worked as a waitress. She then moved back to Arkansas in 2015 and got a job at Ashley Furniture in Jonesboro, AR. Erin loved country backroading, being with her friends, spending time with her family, laughing, and her black cat, Dexter. Erin is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jerral Gilliam; paternal grandmother, Mary Lou Dawson Dowdy; and paternal grandfather, Glendon Dowdy. Erin is survived by her parents, David Dowdy and Cindy Dowdy, both of Paragould, AR; a sister, Danielle and Michael Barber of Jonesboro, AR; a brother, Matthew and Sarah Garmrath of Corning, AR; grandparents, Joyce and Gary Sloan, Paragould; uncle, Tim Gilliam, Marmaduke; aunt, Julie and Allen Rainwater, Paragould; aunt and uncle, Dean and Debbie Olive of Leachville, AR; uncle, Paul Dowdy of Little Rock, AR; aunt Kathy Moore of Paragould, AR; three nieces, Hope Wortham, Hadisyn "Hadi" Wortham, and Loreli White; and three nephews, Hunter Wortham, Hayden Wortham, and Heath "Mo" Wortham; cousins, Amber Scott, Cade Scott, Morgan Scott, Tyler Scott of Paragould, Karlie and Kaitlyn Gilliam of Marmaduke, Brittany and Dawson Moore of Paragould, and Katie Olive of Jonesboro.
