With heavy hearts, we gather to commemorate the life and legacy of Emma Jean Edwards, who was born on January 12, 1930, in Paragould to the late Clyde and Estelle Johnson. Jean passed away on June 30, 2024, in Jonesboro, surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was a dedicated farmer, tending to the land with a passion that resonated with all who knew her. Her green thumb extended beyond the fields, as she took delight in gardening, cultivating both plants and flowers with meticulous care.
Jean found joy in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing her camping adventures at Lake Norfork and Heber Springs alongside her beloved husband, Billy. The serene tranquility of gliding across the lake on their pontoon boat brought her immense happiness.
She leaves behind a lasting impact on those who knew her, including her son Byron Edwards, daughter Lynn Boyd, and grandchildren Angela (Bobby) Mathews and Jason (Rachel) Boyd, and two great-grandchildren. Jean's memory will also be cherished by her surviving relatives- sisters Freda (Jimmy) Cole, Norma (Jim) Glen, and Joy Cole, as well as her brother Larry (Joann) Johnson.
Jean was preceded in death by: her husband, Billy Edwards; her parents Clyde and Estelle Johnson; her sisters Laverne Grossman, Jackie Smith, and Grace Knoll; and her brother Kelly Johnson.
The life of Emma Jean Edwards will be celebrated in a private funeral service, where family and friends will come together to honor her remarkable life and the enduring legacy she leaves behind.
May Jean rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
