Elva Lorene Barner, 93, of Lafe, passed away Monday at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born April 6, 1921, in Deering, Missouri, to the late Luther and Lizzie Adele (Hayes) Morgan. She was retired from Emerson Electric Company and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage to Henry E. "Pinky" Barner on May 23, 1941, and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1975. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Morgan and LeRoy Morgan and her sisters, Zelva Robinson, Alma Eaker, and Katie Gray. She is survived by her daughters, Eloise Coleman of Southaven, Mississippi, and Sherry Mozingo of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; son, Terry (Maria) Barner of Lafe; sister, Sue Botkins of Marmaduke; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30-2pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lafe. The funeral service will be at 2pm with Rev. Aaron Neugebauer officiating. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens. The family requests memorials be sent to St. John's Lutheran Church, 11530 Highway 135, Lafe, Arkansas 72436.
