Fred Edward (Buck) Lands, age 81, of Light, AR, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at his home. Buck was born in the Light Community on June 20, 1932 where he lived all his life. He was a life long farmer and an active member of Light Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and song leader. Buck was a loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather that enjoyed hunting and playing with his granddaughters and great granddaughters. Buck is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Nancy Lenderman Lands, sister, Carol Lands, sisters and brothers-in law, Velma & Jimmy Gill, Ruth & Granville Cook, Mary & Glen Boozer, brothers-in-law, Alvin Foster and Bill Erwin. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sunshine Roberts Lands, sons, Keith Lands of Light and Jeff (Michele) Lands of Paragould; granddaughters, Kassidi Lands of Paragould and Mindy (Jason) Inman of Irving, TX; great granddaughters, Ava & Kyra Inman of Irving, TX; sisters, Regina Erwin of Jonesboro, Betty Foster of Light, June (Lonnie) Kemp of Jonesboro; brothers, Marshall Eugene & Lila Lands of Jonesboro, Mike & Dee Lands of North Little Rock, AR: and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm Friday at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 3:00 PM, Friday, with Paul McFadden officiating. Pallbearers will be Roger Jones, Chuck Davis, Wayne Simpson, Gene Brown, Bob Carter and Jerry Shipman. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Walcott, AR.
