Dr. Bobby George Perry, 68, of Paragould, died Monday at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center. He was born January 14, 1940 in Houston, Arkansas the son of the late Willie Bob and Mary Agnes Kemper Perry. Bob retired as the Director over the Northeast Arkansas County Extension District. He was previously a county extension agent over Lonoke, Drew, Pike, Washington and Crittenden counties. Bob received his bachelor degree from Arkansas State University where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and was a lifelong ASU Indian Fan. He received his master’s degree from the University of Maryland, and his specialist and doctorate degree from the University of Arkansas. Bob was a Rotarian, a member of the National Association of Federal Employees, member of the First United Methodist Church and the FUMC Choir, was an avid traveler and a Buffalo River Camper. Bob recently performed at Carnegie Hall with the ASU/Community choir. Survivors include his beloved wife, Diane Deckelman Perry of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Holly Perry of Harrison; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Jeff Cagle of Palestine; and grandchildren, Zachary and Mallory Perry and Jana, Jessica and Jacob Cagle. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at First United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM Thursday with Reverend Tom Letchworth officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park in Harrisburg. Pallbearers are Bob Branch, J. Gilbert, Dennis Weaver, Jerry Thomas, Glen Pillow and Bobby Dale Fallon. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class.
