Dorothy Mae George, 86, of Paragould, passed away on Thursday. She was owner of Dorothy's Antiques and Fabrics. She loved singing, sewing, and helping people. Miss Dorothy was a "picture of compassion". She was the daughter of the late H.M. and Laura Edgar. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lavelle George, and son-in-law, Bobby McLain.
Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Mitchell (Steve) of Jonesboro, Janice McLain of Paragould, and Wanda George of Paragould; grandchildren, Steve Mitchell, Jr. of Memphis, Stan Mitchell of Franklin, TN, Sherlyn Bates of Little Rock, Laura Newberry of Paragould, and Eric McLain of Little Rock; five great grandchildren; sisters, Reba Edgar Ragsdale (Jerry) of Jackson, MS, and Annell Edgar George of Paragould; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral were Saturday at Heath Funeral Home with Harry Bates, Stan Mitchell, and Matt Newberry officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Mitchell, Jr., Matt Newberry, Eric McLain, Stan Mitchell, Jr., Justin Bates, and Kameron Newberry with Chris George as Honorary Pallbearer. Memorials may be sent to Greene Acres Nursing Home.
