Dorothy Deloris Phelps Jarrett, 81, of Oak Grove Heights, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011, at her home. She was born October 3, 1929 in Cardwell the daughter of the late JE (Eb) and Dovie Chloe Bishop Phelps. Dorothy married Elvis Wayne Jarrett on August 4, 1945. To this union, two daughters were born.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Dennis Phelps, son-in-law, Lynn Humphrey, two brothers-in-law, Elton Cruit and Bob Fletcher. Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Peggy Jarrett Humphrey and Marsha Jo Jarrett Eakins, both of Paragould; sisters and brothers-in-law: Rachel and Leland Keasler of Paragould; Aileen Fletcher of Cardwell, Missouri; Barbara Cruit of Mobile, Alabama; Norma and Virgil Bartle of Rolla, Missouri; brothers and sisters-in-law: Joel and Joan Phelps of Ozark, Alabama; Glen and Patti Phelps of Tehachapi, California; grandchildren and their spouses: Curtis and Susie Hall, Jennifer Breckenridge, Nikki and Steven Boone, Ambi Cross (Alan Slayton); great grandchildren: Jessica Hall, Corina Hall, Alan Cox, Tyler Hobbs, Dawlton Hall, Holly Breckenridge, Andrea Breckenridge, Raven Boone, Jaggar Rogers, Jake Breckenridge and Hailey Boone, great great grandchildren, Braxton Oost and Kendra Cox; very special friend Paula Herron and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday at Heath Funeral Home. Dorothy's life will be celebrated Monday, 2:00 PM at Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend Mark McMinn and Reverend Arthur Phelps officiating. Pallbearers are Bobby Fletcher, Lester Keasler, Kerry Keasler, Bill Keasler, Gordon Bartle, and Richard Light. Honorary Pallbearers are James Keasler, Anthony Jones, Justin Bellomy, Justin Light and Dawlton Hall. Interment will follow at Cardwell Cemetery.
