Doralene Evans, 85, of Paragould, passed away Wednesday at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Doralene was born Saturday April 23, 1932 in the Horse Island community near Mounds, in Greene County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Louis Hershel and Etta Beatrice England Coffel. She married Simmie Lee Evans in Paragould on Friday November 10, 1950. To this union were born six children. Doralene was retired from National Tea Company and was a charter member of Paragould Missionary Baptist Church. Doralene was also preceded in death by her husband, Simmie Evans; three sisters, Verna Mae Bass, Virginia Clark and Dola Terry; brother, Leon Coffel; grandson, Aaron Scott Oost.
Survivors include daughters, Alicia (Gary) Park of East Peoria, IL., Janice Hilton of Paragould and Teresa (Jim) Furman of Fayetteville; sons, Kevin of Pekin, Il., Barry (Michelle) Evans and Bryan (Gwen) Evans of Washington, Il.; six sisters, Doris Coleman, Deleta Evans, Bonnie Clayton, Gertie (Floyd) Bandy, and Beatrice (Teddy) Reddick all of Paragould, Vernetta (James) Dickinson of Jonesboro; two brothers, Edward (Diane) Coffel, and Ralph (Theresa) Coffel all of Paragould; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday from 11-1 pm with service beginning at 1 pm in the Chapel of Heath Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Gene Wright officiating. Burial will follow at a later time at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria, Illinois.
