Don Mac Dickinson

Don Mac Dickinson, 76, passed away September 3, 2011, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro. Don was a lifelong member of the Marmaduke Church of Christ, where he served as an elder. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lorene Dickinson and a brother Duane Dickinson. Mr. Dickinson was the owner of Dickinson’s TV Sales and Service in Marmaduke and a retired rural postal carrier. He served in the Army Reserve and the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion. Don was a retired volunteer firefighter with the Marmaduke Fire Department. He served many years as a council member on the Marmaduke City Council. He was appointed to the Criminal Detention Facility Review Committee by Governor Huckabee. Don Mack enjoyed his retirement by volunteering as a SeniorNet Computer Coach. He also loved the challenges of being a self-directed stock trader. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Shirley Dickinson of the home; son, Steven Dickinson; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Danny Sabo; brother and two sisters-in-law, Ricky and Linda Dickinson and Lynda Dickinson; numerous nephews and nieces; and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Larry McFadden and James Balcom officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Heights Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Blackshear, Chris Dickinson, Bill Dickinson, Joe Dickinson, Charles Collier and Randy Brinkley. Honorary pallbearers will be A. D. Reynolds and Bill Phillips. The family has requested that memorials be made to Children’s Homes, Inc., 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, Arkansas 72450.
