Dick Hays, 74, of Paragould, died Tuesday at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He retired after 40 years of service as a Senior Bridge Inspector for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. He was of the Methodist belief. Dick was preceded in death by his father, Glennis Bud Hays, mother, Betty Hughes. He was an avid duck hunter, fisherman, devoted husband, father and grandfather. Dick was a loving and caring person who would go out of his way to help anyone. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hays of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Sam (Cathy) Hays of Paragould, Dickie (Lisa) Hays of Hernando, MS; brother, Bob (Betty) Hays of Paragould. Grandsons, Tyler and Jacob Hays. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Tracy Archibald officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stephen Pace, Tyler Hays, Todd Ford, Tim Roswell, John Paskel, Gary McCord. Honorary pallbearers are Ted Gardner, Steve Babcock, Danny Ford, Dr. Stacey Noel, Ras Copeland. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
