It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dianne Davis, a beloved mother, devoted sister, and compassionate soul, who departed this life on March 2, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on April 25, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dianne's journey began in a vibrant city that would forever influence her warm spirit and love for community.
Dianne graduated from high school in New Orleans and devoted her life to helping others. In her career as a security guard, she demonstrated unwavering dedication and integrity. However, her true passion lay in working with special needs children, where her kindness and nurturing nature shone through, leaving a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
In the early 1990s, Dianne married her dearest love, Howard Davis. Their union was a partnership filled with love and support, which stood strong until Howard's passing two years ago. Dianne's love for her family was evident in everything she did, especially in her roles as a mother to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Each of them carries forward the values and love she instilled.
Dianne found joy in her hobbies, including sewing and cooking, often bringing together friends and family around the table. She was also an avid fan of Mrs. Pac-Man, finding simple pleasures in life. She cherished her faith as a Baptist, often expressing her love for the Lord through her actions and her willingness to serve others. Dianne's life was a testament to her desire to uplift those around her, embodying compassion and generosity.
Dianne is survived by her daughters, Dawnisha (Derrick) Norris of New Orleans, Shywanda Harris of Paragould, Danielle Harris of Memphis, and Maxine (Miquel) Short of Dallas; son, Joseph White of New Orleans; 25 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brothers, Terry (Chanel) Lucas and Jerry Lucas; sisters, Lorraine Harris, Patricia (June) Little, Linda Harris, and Yvette (Tony) Walker; and many other family and friends. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, George Harris and Evelyn Holloway Harris Lucas; husband, Howard Davis; son, Isaac Alvis; grandsons, Kennith Harris and Derrick Harris; great grandson, Eason Harris; and brother, Michael Harris.
A Celebration of Life will take place a time in the future where friends and family can come together to share stories from Dianne's life and honor someone who gave so much to so many others.
Dianne leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service that will be cherished by all who knew her. May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be a light guiding us all.
