Devona "Nana" Tedder, 91, of Paragould, passed from this life on Friday, January 6, 2023. She was born in the Campground community on January 23, 1931, to the late Rev. Marvin and Eunice Thompson. Nana graduated from Greenway High School in 1949. She married L.C. "Pops" Tedder on November 4, 1950. They were married for 68 years until Pops passing in 2019. Nana spent her life caring for others. She worked as a special needs assistant, librarian, and secretary in the Greene County Tech School District for many years until she retired. She loved to cook, sew, watch birds, and baby sit; however, her greatest loves were her Lord and Savior, Jesus, her husband, and her family. She was a member of Lake Street Baptist Church. Nana faithfully read her Bible. She would make notes in the margins, and she would pass that Bible to a family member once she had read through it. She read through so many Bibles that she was able to provide a Bible for most of her family. Nana cherished time with her family. She set the example of what it truly means to be a faithful child of God, loving wife, and caring mother and grandmother. Nana was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Kimberly Tedder; great grandson, Darrel Kason Dollars; brothers, Cloyce Thompson and infant Warren Edward Thompson; sisters, Eileen Scantlin and Alma Patten; and close friend, Sherrie Gould.
Nana is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Joe) Foss of Paragould; son, Kevin (Lynn) Tedder of Paragould; grandchildren, Darra (Doug) Smith, Kacey (Barry) McBroom, and Joey (Scott) Pillow; great grandchildren, Kaitlin (James) Adkins, Abby (Garrett) Felkins, Ethan Pillow, Hannah Bryson, Alex Sparr, and Avery Sparr; great-great grandchildren, Liv Adkins and Stevie Felkins; sisters, Rachel Medsker of Eldon, Missouri, Mabel Taylor and Mildred Hale, both of Paragould, and Barbara Arnold of Heber Springs; and special family friends, Curtis and Shauna Hitt (Cruz and Gigi), Jay and Shelli Boone (Abbey and Grant), and Dilma Barnhill, all of Paragould.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-3 pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral begins at 3 pm with Revs. Wayne and Jody Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow at Warren's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Curtis Hitt, Cruz Hitt, Jay Boone, Grant Panneck, Bryan Shatley, Gaylon Ashabranner, Charlie Cooper, and David Dinkens.
