Denzil Maurice Jones

Denzil Maurice Jones, 83, of Paragould, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born February 9, 1930 in Rector, Arkansas the son of the late Carmen and Grace O'Brien Jones. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Oakes, grandson, Joe Jones, brother, Eugene Jones, sister, Patsy Hill and sisters, Imogene and Phyllis June. Denzil loved farming, St. Louis Cardinal Baseball, NASCAR and also worked as a supervisor at Emerson Electric. He was saved, baptized and joined Brown's Chapel Baptist Church in 1998. He is survived by his wife: Doris Jones, of the home; children: Cathy and Larry Norred of Piggott, Denny and Jessie Jones of Maumelle, Mike and Ronda Jones of Paragould, Teresa and Stan Jackson of Southern Pines, NC, Jerry and Lee Ann Dickson of Paragould, Connie Jo Jones of Dallas, TX, and Charles Oakes of Ripley, Mississippi; siblings: Dotson and Debra Jones of Paragould, Maxine Gray of Centralia, IL, Ailene Hicks of Bay, Carolyn Fearn of Daphne, AL, Butch and Betty Jones of Cabot, Janice Jones of Jonesboro; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 1:00 PM, Thursday, with Dr. Roy Hargrave officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery, Rector, AR. Pallbearers are Doyle Jones, Butch Jones, Jerry Dickson, Geoffrey Norred, Jordan Norred, Ronnie Banning and Bobby Tracer.
