Delores Smith

Delores Smith, 85, of Paragould passed away on Saturday, November 14th at Greene Acres Nursing Home. Delores was a lifelong resident of Greene County, having been born and raised in the Evening Star community. Later she met and married the love of her life, Carlton Smith and lived out her life in the Beech Grove community helping Carlton on the farm. Throughout her life Delores was a devoted wife and mother to her two daughters, Tami and Debby. Delores always made a wonderful garden with many Greene County residents enjoying her "sweet corn". Delores also made many lifelong friends during her employment at Wal-Mart.

After retirement Delores and Carlton spent their time enjoying nature, working outside in the garden, spending time with their family, and enjoying fellowship with friends at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Beech Grove.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Smith; parent Thomas and Maudie (Holifield) Vines; sisters, Rose Vines, Nellie May Vines, and Margie Robb; brothers Herman Vines, Ariel (Buddy) Vines, Paul Vines, William Franklin (Jackie) Vines, Donald Ray Vines, and Dori (Bubby) Vines, her twin.

Delores is survived by her daughters, Tami (Jack) Forrest of Tallahassee, Florida, and Debby (Bob) Camp of Paragould, Arkansas. She is also survived by granddaughter Holly Forrest of Tallahassee, Florida, grandsons Phillip Forrest of Orlando, Florida, Shannon Underwood of Beech Grove, Arkansas and Ryan Underwood of Springdale, Arkansas. Delores has one surviving sibling, Imogene Brown of Pueblo, Colorado. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who were like daughters and sons to her throughout her life.

Graveside services will be Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Heath Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Hicks officiating. In lieu of flowers individuals may make a contribution in Delores' name to Cornerstone Baptist Church in Beech Grove or another memorial of the givers choice.
