Conrad Lee Howe

February 1, 1927 — October 20, 2013

Conrad Lee Howe, age 86, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Conrad was born February 1, 1927, in Troy, Indiana to the late Lee Roy Howe and Olive (Goffinet) Howe. He graduated from Troy High School in 1945. After high school he served in the army. Following his service in the army he went to Purdue University and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950. Conrad married his high school sweetheart, Doris Steen, in 1945 and they were married 66 years. After graduation he worked for General Electric for 23 years. He began working in the plant in Tell City, IN and was later transferred with his family to the plant in Jonesboro, AR in 1966. After his retirement from General Electric he worked for Emerson Electric and retired from the plant in Paragould, AR as Manager of Technical Services. Survivors are his wife, Doris, daughters, Cynthia Ann Howe of Dallas, Tx: and Mrs. Connie Lee Harris (Dr. Barry) of Paragould, AR. Also surviving are grandchildren, Dr. Emily Elizabeth Harris of Germantown, TN; Ryan Howe Harris of Little Rock, AR; sister, Hazel Fortwendel of Troy, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City, AR for the good care he was given the past five months. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 11:00 AM, Thursday, with Reverend Eddie Gene Wright and Reverend Clyde Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gale Maag, Major McDaniel, Wayne Hill, Bill Gott, Jim Burgess and Ken Flynn.
