Claridy C. “Pete” Cupp, of Light, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro. Pete was born to Vance Sr. and Laura (Newberry) Cupp November 24, 1933 in Light. Pete was a Christian and active member of Walcott Baptist Church. He was a co-owner of Cupp Incorporated and retired from the State of Arkansas after 43 years from the LP Gas Board. Pete is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Esther (Williams) Cupp, his parents, two brothers Mayo Cupp and James Michael Cupp, two sisters Claribel White and Evangeline Cothren. Mr. Cupp is survived by his three daughters Becky Miller (Jimmy) of Light, Jackie Freeman (Breck) of Paragould, Jill Evans (Tony) of Paragould, ten grandchildren Matthew Miller, Allison Poe, Kristen Wallace, Seth Freeman, Jonathan Freeman, Sarah Freeman, Adam Freeman, Stephen Evans, Allison Evans and Elisabeth Evans, six great grandchildren Landon Miller, Camden Wallace, Matty Poe, Allie Miller, Kristie Miller, Luke Miller and one great grandchild due in May, one brother Vance Cupp Jr. “Sonny” of Light. Services will be 1PM Monday December 23 in the Heath Colonial Chapel with Pastor Matthew Miller, Bro. Marion Cornett and Dr. Brandt Smith officiating, burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jackson Cothren, Vance Cupp III, Jay Colmer, Johnny Distretti, Jesse Hancock and Allen Blake. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Smith, Jim Smith, Gary Felty, George Robb, Jack Allison, Ronnie Faulkner, David Pratt and the Adult Men’s Class of Walcott Baptist Church.
