Clarence “Barney” Franklin Barnhill, Jr., 81, of Steelville, MO, and formerly of Paragould died Saturday in St. Louis, MO. He was born on August 18, 1934, in Paragould to the late Clarence Franklin Barnhill, Sr. and Lucille Pinegar Barnhill. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents and grandson, Marcus May. He was united in marriage to Nancy Pearline May in August of 1955. She preceded him in death in February of 2003. He later married Frances Marlene Setzer on November 16, 2003. Barney farmed in Arkansas and later went to work for McDonnell-Douglas where he retired in 1974. After retirement, he worked as a transporter for a commercial RV company. He attended Canaan Community Church in Cook Station, MO. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting toy trucks and clipping magazine articles.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Barnhill, Steelville, MO; sons, Mike May (Mary), Weldon Springs, MO, Frank M. Barnhill III, Thayer, MO; daughters, Sheryl Lejeune, Troy, MO, Debbie Vance (Terry), Washington, MO; step-children, Kathy Key (Jay), Harrison, AR, Susan Martin (Ron), Camdenton, MO, Cindy Martin (Rick), Steelville, MO, Merry Ziebol, Charlotte, N.C.; brother, James Barnhill (Diane), Paragould; brother-in-law, Bill Setzer (Pat), St. Louis, MO; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Bolling (Gene), Bolivar, MO, Gloria Setzer, FL; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
