It is with both heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Clara Mae Newboles, born on October 17, 1940, in the quaint town of Red Onion, Missouri. Clara, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, transcended this earthly realm on March 1, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family and her pastor.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, James Harvey McFarland and Argie Ruth (Bodenhamer) McFarland; beloved daughter, Tina Newboles; and brothers, J.R. McFarland, Homer McFarland, Ernie McFarland.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Carl Newboles, her loving daughter, Vonnie (Fred) Greer, and her cherished son, Buddy (Paige) Newboles. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Josh (Jessica) Rose, Alex (Jade Yee) Newboles, and Todd (Charlotte) Greer, and great-grandchildren, Landon Besserman, Gauge Rose, Ella Greer, Lillie Greer, and Hannah Matthews, who will forever hold dear the lessons of kindness and resilience she imparted throughout her life. She is also survived by stepbrother, Wayne (Wanda) Rowland; and two very special caregivers, Debbie Crisp and Whitney Cranford.
Clara was a hairdresser for many years before taking a job at Emerson Electric where she retired as a supervisor. Her most treasured memories were her church, family Bunco, bowling, traveling, and playing her autoharp.
Clara was known by many as the "Harp Lady." She cherished every moment she was able to minister to others about her Lord and Savior through songs and playing her autoharp.
She was known by friends as a special lady who was kind, giving, caring, and always there when you needed her. It has been said by many that Clara was their prayer warrior. When she prayed, her prayers went straight through the rafters of church right up to God.
She was known by family as the heart of the home. She kept everyone going by her outpouring of love and prayers. She was a devoted wife to Carl for sixty-seven years, a loving mother and grandmother. She loved cooking for her family and just spending time with them any time that she could. The one thing that she would be most proud of is her Lord and Savior. Being a Christian and being a good example for others was what she strived for. Even through all of her trials, heartaches, and illnesses, she would respond with, " I am severely blessed," when asked how she was, no matter how she really felt.
To honor Clara's legacy and the impact she made on those around her, funeral services will be held at Heath Funeral Home on March 5, 2025. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation, which will begin at 10:30 AM. The service will begin at 12:00 PM, with Bro. Dennis Strope officiating, followed by her burial at Linwood Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be, DJ Ricker, JW Rawls, Frankie Pillow, Landon Besserman, Michael Potter, John Del Hollis, and Lloyd Hailey.
