Clara Belle Wineland

Clara Belle Vanhook Wineland, age 93, of Paragould, passed on to heaven peacefully Thursday, February 2, 2017. Clara was born in 1923 in Lake City, Arkansas. She played on the basketball team and graduated from Dixie High School in 1941. Clara Belle married Albert on June 28, 1941, and they were married for 70 years.

She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, friend, mother and grandmother. Clara was an active member of Schugtown United Methodist Church for many years and attended First United Methodist Church in Paragould in her later years.

Clara loved spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, quilting with her friends, and singing in the church quartet. She lived out her happiest years in Schugtown on the much beloved family farm. She enjoyed taking care of others and entertaining her family. When anyone came to visit, she would always have a delicious home cooked meal ready. Clara is remembered for the love she gave to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wineland; her parents, Charles and Ida Fields Vanhook; and her siblings, Earl Vanhook, Susie Vanhook Carpenter, Maudell Vanhook Cooper, and Alvin Vanhook.

She leaves behind her three children, Donald Albert Wineland (Carol) of Fayetteville, AR, Van Wineland (Scarlett) of Paragould and Joy Faith Wineland Smith of Paragould. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Jennifer Wineland Rich (Jon) of Germantown, TN, Julie Wineland Thompson (Brent) of Fayetteville, Justin Paul Smith of Windsor, CO, Audra Faith Brown (Jerrod) of Paragould, and Madeleine Claire Wineland of Houston, TX, and great-grandchildren, Caroline Craft, Kate Craft, Elizabeth Craft, Boone Thompson, Sims Thompson, Lawson Brown and Catherine Claire Brown.

Visitation will be from 12-1pm on Monday, February 6, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Paragould. The service will begin at 1pm under the direction of Heath Funeral Home with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in Woods Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Paragould.
