Clara Alice Lovelady

Clara Alice (Clifton) Lovelady, 87, of Beech Grove, was at home with family when God called her to His Heavenly home, Tuesday, May 18, 2021. She was born to John Ayers and Velora (Vines) Clifton at their home in Evening Star, AR. Clara was married to Bill Lovelady, March 6th, 1970. They built their life together raising cattle and farming in Beech Grove, AR. Clara was a devoted wife, faithful Christian, and a member of Evening Star Church of Christ. She prepared many Sunday school lessons to provide others a foundation for loving the Lord. She was diligent in studying her bible and talking to God through prayer. She was a retired teacher of 32 years. She began her career with two years at Marston, MO and finished the other 30 at Delaplaine, AR. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Many who came to visit were entertained with games such as Skip-Bo, Dominos, and Uno. She enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, tending to her flower beds, gardening, and canning fruits and vegetables. She will always be remembered for her servant heart, care taking abilities, kind touch, and tender love for everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; John Earl Clifton, Vernon Clifton; sister; Alma Davis, and two nephews; Wesley Davis and Keith Clifton.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Bill Lovelady; a host of nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, great great nephews and nieces, and great great great nephews and nieces that she loved and cherished as her own children.

Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Friday at 1 pm at Heath Colonial Chapel with Richard Durham and Art Smith officiating. Burial will be at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Clara’s great nephews and nieces will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her great great nephews and nieces. Memorials may be to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, or Children’s Home of Paragould.
