Claire Ann Jenkins

Claire Ann (Walker) Jenkins was born 11 February 1932 in Paragould, Arkansas, to the late Earl
and Hettie Ophelia (Riddick) Walker. Our Lord set her free from this world on February 7th,
2022. Three brothers, Farris, James Earnest and Maurice Richard Walker, and four sisters,
Martha Sue Red, Emily Eloise Cupples, Virginia Earline Gurley, and Mary Ellen Walker all
predeceased her.

Her husband of more than sixty-five years, Randall Kline “Red” Jenkins, predeceased her in
November of 2021.

She is survived by her son, Randall Wayne “Randy” (Stephanie) Jenkins, their four children and
spouses, and ten grandchildren; her daughter Polly Ann (Daniel) Medici; and finally her
daughter Patricia Jean “Patty” Garner as well as her daughter Taylor (Trase) Davis and their
daughter Emma Claire Davis.

With Love and Joy, Claire often shared her gifts with the world. She had an ear for music which
she shared for many years from the alto section of the Paragould First United Methodist Church
Chancel Choir. She had an eye for beauty, which she shared by making sure the church
sanctuary was beautifully decorated for celebration Sundays, and the windows at Belk
department store in downtown Paragould were filled with animatronics at Christmas time. She
had the hands of an artist, able to create beauty even when she put pen to paper to write the
simplest note. She had a nose for truth, as any attempt at shenanigans was met with a knowing
sideways glance. She was the voice of reason in her family and circle of friends. Lastly, she
had a heart more precious than gold, shining like a beacon of Light for the world to see how
much one person can Love.

We continue to be Blessed by her Light.

Paragould, or the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Paragould. A reception featuring Claire's most loved desserts (using her recipes) will immediately follow the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
