Christine Howard, 85, of Cardwell, passed away Tuesday at St. Bernard's Medical Center. She was born in Delaplaine, was a homemaker who loved to cook, can, and tend to her garden. She also spent many days picking cotton and was a member of the Cockrum Church of Christ. Christine was the daughter of the late Claude and Lorene Reed Forbs. She was also preceded by a daughter, Connie Bell Wiseman; four brothers, Ernest, Elmer, Larry and Leon Forbs; four sisters, Edith and Ester Forbs, Lucille Edwards, and Barbara Cooper
Survivors included her husband of 69 years, Youkon Howard; two sons, Connie Wayne (Donna) Howard and Billy Wayne (Becky) Howard both of Cardwell; six daughters, Marilyn Emberton of Clinton, Linda McGerw of Rector, Glenda Sidenstricker of Marmaduke, Joyce Biley of Hornersville, Peggy Howard of Cardwell and Diane Powers of Michigan; four brothers, Johnny, Lester and Danny Forbs all of Paragould and James Forbs of Marmaduke; two sisters, Bonnie Morgan of Paragould and Shirley Frields of Marmaduke; 16 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren and 18 Great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 pm at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1 PM Friday in the chapel with Eddie Dunnigan officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Home Cemetery. Pallbearers are Paul Roberson, Eric Brannum, Joey Bishop, Timmy Coke, Jason Bishop and Tyler Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Howard and Chris Champion.
