Chris Cox

February 21, 1947 — November 4, 2020

Chris Cox, formerly of Paragould, departed this earthly world for his heavenly home on November 4, 2020 at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center in Cedar Park, Texas. He was born on February 21, 1947 and is preceded in death by his parents L.J. (Jack) Cox and Sadie Lam Cox.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Mary Idalski Cox of the home; one brother, Jack (Jean) Cox Sr. of Paragould; and a loving group of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Chris graduated from Greene County Tech in 1965 and attended Arkansas State University prior to serving in the military. He was a college graduate and retired from the Jackson Michigan police department with the rank of sergeant. Chris later worked for the city of Austin, Texas as a "project director" in the city computer department.

As a teenager, Chris became an Eagle Scout. He lived his life fully demonstrating the twelve laws of scouting: trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. All of these qualities were evident in his every day walk.

Chris loved nature and the outdoors. He was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed the companionship of his bass club and family.

Chris was of the Baptist faith and knew the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. All who knew Chris Cox, loved Chris Cox.
