Charles Woodrow Stevens

Charles Woodrow Stevens, 81, Paragould, departed this life on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at his home. He was born February 10 1931 in Delaplaine, Arkansas the son of the late Charles Edward and Victoria Clark Stevens. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Rosie Hollaway Stevens, brothers, Bob and Paul Stevens, sisters, Irene Stevens, Lenora Hill, Lilly Jordan and daughter, Debbie Stormes. Woody was a loving husband and devoted father. He was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Clara Pitcher Stevens, of the home; daughter and son-in-law: Vera and Larry Bounds of Delaplaine; son: Charles Edward Stevens of Paragould; son-in-law: Ed Stormes of Paragould. He was the proud grandpa of Chris Bounds of Delaplaine, Brent and Debbie Bounds of Dublin, California, Kelly and Jody Bounds of Delaplaine, Jon and Candace Bounds of Paragould, Brian and Andrea Bounds of Jonesboro and Crystal and Rob Lee of Marion. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, Michael, Chloe, Irissa, Emilie, Abbie, Hailey, Jade and Harper. Also surviving him are his sisters: Imogene Rainwater of Delaplaine, Venita Amick of Phoenix, AZ, Wanda and Gene Fox of Brixey, Missouri, Arzaela Svaglic of St. Clair, Missouri and Vivian Davis of Paragould as well as many more family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 2:00 PM, Wednesday, with Tommy Pitcher officiating. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are his grandsons, Chris, Brent, Kelly, Jon, and Brian Bounds and grandson-in-law, Rob Lee.
