Charles Burnette

Charles P. Burnette, 73, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 5th. He was born March 10, 1942. He was a child of God and of the Baptist faith. Charles enjoyed country music, playing the guitar, watching westerns and tending to his lawn and garden. His favorite pastime was making people laugh. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. Charles was preceded in death by his parents B.B. and Ethel Burnett, son, Steven Burnette, sisters, Eugenia Walker, Eunice Burnett and Louise Burnett; nephew, Jerry Walker and niece, Debra Bateman. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Brenda Kiddy Burnette; son Keith (Nena) Burnette; daughter Christy (Eric) Cooper; grandson, Adam (Stephanie) Burnette; granddaughters, Mallory Burnette and Avery Cooper; great granddaughter, Kaylee Burnette. Pallbearers will be Danny Roberson, Scott Kappelman, Boone Roberson, Cleve Osborn, Steve Wright and Brian Fuller. Honorary pallbearers are Buck Walker, Don Walker, Ransom Walker, Denny Smith, Carl Fesler, all of his trucking buddies and his coffee shop friends. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30-11:00 A.M. at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Dennis Strope officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
