Charles “Bud" Thompson, 85, of Paragould, passed away Wednesday, January, 25, 2017 at Greene Acres Nursing Home. Bud was born November 21, 1931 in Paragould to Cecil and Cora Mae Thompson. He was retired from Greene County Tech, where he was a custodian and drove a bus for 33 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed telling stories to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved son, Michael; brothers, Joe and Lloyd; and sisters, Betty Smith, Louise Fry and Darlene Wilburn.
Bud is survived by his wife, Norma; daughter, Regina (Sherrell) Johnson; son, Greg Thompson; loving granddaughter Kristen (Justin) Hurt; great granddaughter, Kinslee Hurt; the mother of his children, Boots Thompson; step daughter, Donna Gage and her family; brothers, Forrest (Vicki) of Rector and Kenny (Jeanette) of Warren; sister, Linda (Gary) Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wants to specially thank Greene Acres Nursing Home for their care, compassion, and commitment.
Visitation will be Friday from 12-1:30 pm at Heath Funeral Home. A graveside service will begin at 2:00 pm at Pruett's Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Terry Songer officiating. Pallbearers are Jerry Agee, Terry Agee, Kenny Smith, Gary Eaker, Michael Lyerly and Mike Thomas.
