Carol Brenda Hager, 75, passed from this life on Saturday, July 27, 2024. She was born on January 6, 1949, in Rector to the late Earl and Janetta Agee. Carol resided in Jonesboro with her husband, Rev. Robert "Bob" Hager, whom she wed on June 25, 1993. She graduated from Greene County Tech High School in 1967. A dedicated social worker, Carol graduated from Arkansas State University with a bachelor's degree in Social Work and spent 25 rewarding years at Consolidated Youth Services before retiring in 2014.
Throughout her life, Carol found joy in the simple pleasures, which included her love for reading suspense novels and taking leisurely walks. She was a Methodist and had deep love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Carol also had a genuine love for people. Her family recalls never hearing her say a negative word about anyone. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kathy Pillow.
Carol is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bob Hager; sons, Jeff (Belinda) Johnson of Paragould, Mark (Wade Carter) Johnson of Hot Springs, and Justice (Jen) Hager of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Maggie Johnson and B Mitas; brothers, Jerry (Rose Mary) Agee and Terry Agee; sisters, Sherry (Jimmy) Holland and Karen (Alan) Davis; brother-in-law, Jimmy Pillow; several nephews and nieces; and numerous church and clergy friends who have become family over the years.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held at Griffin Methodist Church on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 2 pm followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
In her death, Carol leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication that will forever be cherished by her family and friends. May she rest in peace, knowing she touched the lives of many with her compassion and grace.
