Calvin James Landreth was a man of many talents and a handyman extraordinaire, known for his ability to fix anything from plumbing to cars with skill and finesse. He was born on December 29, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and resided in Paragould, Arkansas, at the time of his passing on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
His dedication to his work was evident in his occupation as a sanitation worker for the City of Russellville. Calvin took pride in his job and was respected by many for his hard work and reliability. He was a man of integrity and a pillar of his community.
Beyond his work, Calvin found joy and solace in his faith, being actively involved in his church, the House of Prayer in Paragould. His spiritual life was a cornerstone of his being, and he found comfort in his beliefs.
Calvin is survived by his loving daughter, Karen McGhee; son, Ken Landreth; step-daughters, Samantha Vaughn, and Sherry Foster; step-son, Robert White; grandson, Derek McGhee; his ex-wife, Linda Bradley; and step-grandchildren: Amelia Vaughn, Landon Vaughn, Olivia Vaughn, and Paisley Johnston. His legacy lives on through his family, who will always cherish the memories they shared with him.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, James Landreth and Vivian Landreth; his brother, Mike Landreth; granddaughter Ava Johnston, and his partner, Darlene White.
A celebration of Calvin's life will take place with a visitation at Heath Funeral Home on Sunday, July 21, starting at 5:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Monday July 22, at 1:00 pm, with Dwight David King officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick immediately following the service.
Calvin James Landreth's life was filled with love, faith, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
