Burtis "Big Burt" Walker, Sr., 70, of Paragould, passed away Wednesday at his home. He was a farmer and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was the son of the late Joseph and Ester Walker. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Carl Walker, and sisters, Bobby Smith and Lavern Hobbs.
Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Walker; son, Burtis Walker, Jr. (Pam); daughters, Tanginna Atwood (Wyman) and Jennifer Higdon (Rodney); grandchildren, Lance Bradley (Catherine), Adrienne Bradley, Skylar Rowe (Sara), Chayna Cardwell, McKinlee Walker, Mercadey Cardwell, Zacheus Cardwell, and Isaiah Higdon; step grandchildren, Hunter Atwood, Heather Atwood, and Tabitha Atwood; step great grandchildren, River Dixon, Colten Hyten, Jenna Hyten, and Zoey Hyten; brothers, Danny Walker and J.D. Walker; sisters, Sandy Dickson, Charlotte Langston, Betty Smith, Debbie West, Barbara Poteet, Wanda Wyatt, Janice Hickson, and Jo Ann Steinmitz; and lots of other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 12-2 pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral begins at 2 pm with Rev. Scotty Hickson officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Joe Thompson, David Evans, Kirk Coward, Grant Galyean, Zack Wilson, and Jonathan Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Hester and Bill Hill.
