It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Ivie, who departed this life on December 27, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on July 15, 1941, Brenda was a cherished resident of Paragould, Arkansas, Pocahontas, Arkansas, and later Mustang, Oklahoma, and left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Brenda was deeply religious and a woman of unwavering faith. Throughout her life, she became involved in missionary work, traveling overseas to fulfill her calling and serve others. Her devotion to her faith was evident in her active participation in her churches, where she offered her talents and compassion to her community.
As a dedicated educator, Brenda thrived in her role as a teacher, sharing her passion for learning with countless children. Her love for children extended to her willingness to learn to drive a school bus, further illustrating her commitment to supporting the youth she cherished. Even at the age of 75, she pursued her interests with enthusiasm, beginning to learn the piano, showing that it is never too late to follow one's passions.
Brenda was also known for her love of gardening and her relentless search for "really tasty food," often sharing her culinary discoveries with family and friends. Her joyful spirit and nurturing nature will be profoundly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Brenda is survived by her beloved son, Erik Williams of Paragould; her devoted daughter, Allison Stockert of Oklahoma City; her cherished granddaughter, Kierstin Williams of Paragould; and her dear brothers, Tim Dickson and Steve Dickson of St. Louis.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Dickson; her mother, Reba Dickson; her loving spouse, James Ivie; and her first husband, Jerry Williams.
A graveside service will be held in her honor at Linwood Cemetery on Monday, December 30, at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Brenda's beautiful life. In this time of sorrow, let us remember her kind heart and unwavering spirit, which will continue to inspire us all.
