Bobby Joe Polk, 75, of Paragould, passed away Saturday at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was a retired veteran who served proudly in the United States Army. He remained "Army Proud" throughout his life. He became a reserve police officer with Hayti Heights Police Department. Bobby spent a lot of time on his HAM Radio. He also enjoyed antique cars and watching westerns. He was the former owner of Dixie Dance. Bobby was the son of the late William Polk and the late Della Stapleton. He was also preceded in death by his son, Bobby Eugene Polk; step daughter, Tressia Sisco; brother, Norman Gene Stapleton; sisters, Neva Crow and Laverne Barnes; and step mother, Annamae Parks.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Jean Polk; sons, Henry, Freddie, and Milford Polk; step children, Connie Smith, Renee Hickman, Glen Cullen, and Kathy Cole; brother, Raymond Stapleton; sisters, Ruby Freek, Kathy Ellisworth, and Jane Francis; best friend, Wayne Povsha; beloved dog, Chico Polk; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Monday from 5-7 PM at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral Service is Tuesday at 1 PM at Heath Funeral Home with Rev. Vernis Farmer officiating. Burial is in Pine Log Cemetery. Pallbearers are Freddie Polk, Henry Polk, Milford Polk, William Ellisworth, Zack Polk, and Glen Cullen. Send memorials to the Veteran's Association.
