Billy Edward Bolar, 92, of Paragould, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He left behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and cherished memories.
Bill was born July 11, 1932, in the Childress community to the late P.B. and Ludie Bolar. He was raised on a farm where he learned the importance of a strong work ethic and the value of family and friends. He graduated from Childress High School and then attended Arkansas State University. He soon met and married the love of his life, Mary Willodean McKinney. As their family grew, they decided to leave farming and move to Paragould. Bill then began his career as an auto parts salesman. In the early years, he was a traveling salesman; however, he made it a priority to plan his routes so that he would be home every night with his family. He raised three daughters who loved him greatly. He was then blessed with three granddaughters and one great grandson.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, taking his family to the lake on the weekends, building furniture, and he especially enjoyed fishing the many lakes and rivers of northeast Arkansas with his friends and family.
He was never too busy to help others. He gave generously of his time and money to others simply because it was the right thing to do.
Bill was a principled man and respected by everyone that knew him. He was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed. For a man like Bill, 92 earthly years was not enough.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Willodean Bolar; his daughter, Jena Cannon and her husband, Rick Cannon; his sister, Lela Biggs; niece, Debbie Biggs; sister-in-law, Pat Bolar; and his beautiful granddaughter, Brynne Lexi Wortham.
Bill is survived by his brother, Jerry Bolar; daughters, Sheila (Tony) Stubblefield and Dena (Claude) Graves; granddaughters, Sarah (Eric) Spencer and Jennah Stubblefield; and his great grandson, Brady Lancaster.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 1:30-2:30 pm at Heath Funeral Home. A graveside funeral will begin at 3 pm at Finch Cemetery with Art Smith officiating.
His family is forever grateful for a life well lived.
