Beulah Mae Cure

July 24, 1937 — September 2, 2023

Beulah Mae Sharp Cure, 86, of Paragould, passed from this life on Saturday, September 2, 2023. She was born in Leachville on July 24, 1937, to the late William Boyd and Lillie Sharp. Beulah, or "Doodle" as her family affectionately called her, was the first Greene County Spelling Bee Champion in 1951. She excelled in academics and graduated as the Valedictorian of Paragould High School in 1955. Beulah married the love of her life, James Cure, on September 14, 1955. She worked a few jobs before landing at Emerson Electric where she spent more than twenty years. Beulah retired from Emerson Electric as a Quality Inspector. While she had a wonderful career, her primary focus in life was on her faith and her family. Beulah's greatest hobby, according to her husband, was taking care of him. She always put family first, and that was evident by the way she loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Beulah knew her way around a kitchen, and she baked the best cakes. She was also a talented seamstress. Beulah was gifted with calligraphy, and she would often be asked to use her calligraphy skills for invitations. Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Brooke LeeAnn Gamble; brothers, Clarence, Ralph, William "Beets", and Charles "Chub" Sharp; and sisters, Jeanne Bishop and Paralee "Pat" Copeland.

Beulah is survived by her husband of 67 years, James Cure; sons, Richard (Leisa) Cure of Paragould and Benjamin (Tammi) Cure, Sr. of Greenville, South Carolina; daughter, Beverly Cure Gamble of Paragould; grandchildren, Jennifer (Wade) Lewis of Paragould, Tiffani (Scotty) Timms of Paragould, Tasha (Nick) Mattes of Jonesboro, Ashley Cure of Greenville, Alyssa (Joe, III) Montgomery of Greenville, Benjamin (Sadie) Cure, Jr. of Greenville, Stephen Cure of Greenville, Nathan (Hannah) Cure of Greenville, and LCpl Jason (Lauren) Cure of Yuma, Arizona; great grandchildren, Tristan Lewis, Madelynn Lewis, Asher Timms, Chrisley Brooke Timms, Andrew Montgomery, Bryce Montgomery, Cedric Montgomery, Jackson Cure, and Maddox Cure; sister, JoAnn Sims; and special friends, Sherry Boone, Monnie Edgar, Linda Markin, and Patty Price.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12-1 PM at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Benjamin Cure, Jr., Nathan Cure, Stephen Cure, Jason Cure, Wade Lewis, Scotty Timms, and Nick Mattes. Honorary pallbearers are Tristan Lewis and Asher Timms.
