Bertha Hazel Huffine, 89, Paragould, passed away on Sunday in Amory, Mississppi.
Hazel was born in Thayer, Missouri to Harry Franklin French and Jennie Viola French on June 26, 1926. She married Eskio Herschel Huffine on June 27th, 1942. She worked at the Ed White Shoe Factory and retired from the cafeteria at Community Methodist Hospital. When not visiting with her family and friends, she could be found cooking or gardening, especially tending to her various flowers. Hazel enjoyed helping others and attending church when her health would allow. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eskio, brothers, Cecil Stanfield, Ralph French, Homer French, and sisters, Myrtle Tolley, Lorene Miller, Thelma Wilkerson, Dorothy Brown, and Elsie Morgan. Hazel is survived by her four children, Herschel (Gail) Huffine of Normangee, Texas, Bill (Janet) Huffine of Paragould, Arkansas, Bess (Nelson) Johnson of Amory, Mississippi, Donnie (Glenda) Huffine of Paragould, Arkansas, 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 5 great, great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, beloved friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be Thursday at Heath Funeral Home from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Funeral services will immediately follow with Danny Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Clark’s Chapel.
She lived as peaceful as a dove. She died as blossoms die, and now her spirit floats above a seraph in the sky.
