Benjamin William Robbins passed from this life on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on November 7, 1951, in Blue Island, Illinois, he later made his home in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where he was beloved by family and friends alike.
Ben served his country honorably in the United States Army, an experience that instilled in him discipline and camaraderie, which he carried throughout his life. He dedicated many years to the transportation industry, working as a truck driver and dispatcher for MDR, a role that allowed him to traverse the open roads he so loved.
A passionate music enthusiast, Benjamin had an extensive collection of vinyl records and cassettes, with a particular fondness for rock and roll and blues. His appreciation for music was only rivaled by his love for the great outdoors. He found joy in camping and canoeing, often seeking solace in nature's embrace. A fondness for poker also marked his social interactions, where he cherished time spent with friends and family, sharing laughter and making memories.
Ben leaves behind his loving daughters, Crystal (Kenny) Bearden and Denise Robbins; son, Jacob Robbins; grandchildren, Destiny Kirby and Lance Corder; brothers, Randy Robbins and Rodney Robbins; sister, Sherry Jennings; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Shirley Robbins; wife, Barbara Robbins; grandsons, Tyler and Gabriel Corder; great granddaughter, Ivy Lee Kirby; and sister, Cindy Hill.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery-Birdeye, 3600 AR-163, Cherry Valley, AR 72324.
