Avon Lavelle Davis

Avon Lavelle Davis, 82, of Paragould, died Thursday at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith. Avon was a retired brick layer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claries Davis; parents, Johnny James and Mary C. Rowe Davis; brothers, John Robert and Ira Davis; sisters Jean Eubanks, Nell Hudson, Winnie Perry, Willie Slayden, Lynn Starr, Berniece Nelson. Survivors include his wife, Lois Hanson of Paragould; daughters, Diane Boozer (Charles) of Paragould, Mary Harmon (Michael) of MN, Phyllis Ainley (Burt) and Betty Coggin of Paragould; children, Marvin and Cynthia Hanson, Roxanne and Cole Jennings, Mitchell and Dana Hanson, Kevin Hanson all of Texas and Keith and Cheryl Hanson of Minnesota; sister, Betty Holt of Wisconsin; 23 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00-8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Marion Gramling and Jim Willcockson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, Arkansas Children's Hospital or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
