With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Angelia Lynn Blevins, beloved wife, mother, teacher, and friend. Born on September 3, 1964, Angelia departed from this earthly realm on December 22, 2024, leaving behind a profound legacy of love, dedication, and compassion.
Angelia was a proud daughter of Joseph A. and Carolyn Catherine Nolan. She graduated from Knobel High School in 1982. She pursued her passion for education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education from Arkansas State University, followed by a Master of Science in Education specializing in Moderately and Profoundly Handicapped students. Her tireless commitment to her students and their families defined her 29-year teaching career, which began with three years in Corning and culminated in 26 years at the Marmaduke School District. Renowned for her extraordinary ability to connect with her students, she primarily taught 2nd grade and special education, inspiring countless young learners to reach their fullest potential.
On May 18, 1985, Angelia married the love of her life, David Blevins, in Engelberg, Randolph County. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and joy. Angelia's passion for life extended beyond the classroom; she reveled in the outdoors, often scuba diving, repelling, water skiing, and riding motorcycles. A true sun and water enthusiast, she cherished every moment spent in nature's embrace.
Angelia was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she nurtured her personal relationship with the Mother Mary. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, further illustrating her compassionate nature and commitment to serving others.
Angelia is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, David Blevins; son, Rev. Payden "Red" Blevins; daughter, Katie (Jordan) Sitzer; granddaughter, Connie Marie Richardson; sisters, Theresa (David) Simpson, Becky (Charles) Reinhart, Maria (Joe) Howell, and Diane (James) Fussell; sister-in-law, Sharlyn Nolan; and a multitude of friends and loved ones who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Angelia was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joesph "Joe E." Nolan.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Angelia Lynn Blevins. A Rosary service will take place at Heath Funeral Home on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at 5 PM, followed by a visitation from 5:30 until 7 PM. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 11 AM, honoring a remarkable woman whose legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Holy Angels Convent, an homage to Angelia's enduring commitment to education and the family's historical connection to Holy Angels Convent. Her spirit will live on through the lives she touched, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
